subs getting more watts then RMS

My friend just got an amp to power my 2 pioneer 8's and the subs are 80WRMS and the amp is 130WRMS will running that much more blow them at all? I know that I have to set the gain very low.

It will only harm them if you set the gains wrong. Follow the toutorial if you can and you should be fine.

x2, if you don't listen to this man, then might as well not even ask for advice. that is the best advice you can have. Id prolly set the amp to push 100 to each. BTW what kind of pioneer sub is it, 80 watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif . they are 8" and are purpleish and the cone has the old pioneer logo on it. and they are sealed enclosure type. I can get a pic of them tonight if it helps Pioneer doesnt have them on their website in the archive section.

Underpowered amplifier clipping will hurt your speakers way more than a little too much or at least that has been my experience over the years.
