Subs get so loud then....

Naww my batt is brand new I just got it...didn't get a yellow top like i wanted but anyways....I just so happen to play it really hard today and then went in my trunk and touched my amp and its pretty hot. After a few more min it went into protect...uhhhhhh could it just be that the amp isn't that great? It is pretty hot outside prolly 90+

sounds like amp going into protect. You're sure your gains aren't even halfway?

As far as the ground - for your amp ground I'm assuming you grounded to the chassis somewhere, as 99.99% of people without a 2nd battery do. Make **** sure that the the spot your amp ground touches is bare metal - don't put it on something that has paint or powdercoat. If it has either paint/powdercoat/dirt and crap, clean it off, sand it down to bare metal, and put the ground back to see if that helps.

This is neither here nor there, but just to make sure... What size wire are you running to the amp for power/ground? What size speaker wires? Make sure the big 3 that you did is firmly tightened, and that all your terminals are good quality and on there all the way.

Maybe you blew one of your subs? Amp could be cutting out because its going in protect. Will sound mostly the same but sometimes the amp will cut off when it gets to a certain volume

Good call. ^^^

Also, make sure you have them wired for the right ohm load, that could be a simple but very silly error.

ok now i've ran into some good guys but my head unit is the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD.......and yes i recheck the gain to make sure it was only halfway even turned it down slightly...and when i grounded my amp i used sand paper on the ground....maybe i should redo it again? my subs wired down to 2ohms apiece.. i hope thas right because my amp has two speaker outputs but its a mono amp and is 1 ohm stable...the subs are also dual 4 ohm subs....man i hope one isn't blown

oh and I have 4 gauge wire running to the amp for power and ground 100amp fuse in the fuse holder....now that I think about the fuze is burnt in the middle but not blown

its probably just because of the heat outside. is there any air moving around the amp when it's in the trunk? aim a fan on it till it cools down and play it see if it still cuts out
