Well I drive a 90 turbo dodge caravan //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and the stock system sounds like crap so Im gonna be putting together a new system here shortly. My budget is, as cheap as I can while still sounding good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. I have done some reading, for HU I was thinking a decent pioneer on ebay for ~100. Now the van has stock 5 1/4's up on the dash, should I replace those or just put some speakers in the doors? It would be preferred by far that I could just put them in the dash but if it sounds like *** nevermind. For the components I was thinking something along the lines of Infinity Reference series or some pioneers or something around the same price, the infinity's are really cheap on ebay and I could get a set for ~60 shipped. But I would like to run my components directly off the HU so I dont know how well they do. For amp I was thinking something like the Profile AP1000 like in this thread http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=93062 . But what I really havent decided on was the Subs. Now that amp can do
# RMS Output Power (4 Ohms): 160W x 2
# RMS Output Power (2 Ohms): 240W x 2
# Bridged RMS Output Power (4 Ohms): 480W x 1
So that would be what I have to work with. I really want a sub that doesnt sound muddy and crappy. Sound quality is important to me, but I also dont want a weak sounding system. But this won't be in any SPL competitions or anything. I am probably going to build my own box. So my budget Id say is about 200ish I would prefer closer to 150. Thats why I really didnt know if I should go with 1 or 2 subs.
Thanks for any suggestions on my system!
Thought Id edit this and say that I like to listen to Older classic rock, as well as newer rock, occasionally some rap and some techno too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
