I'm about to buy a JL 500/1 amp and I wanted to know what would be some good subs for this amp. I've heard all kinds of reviews about how you need to have good subs for this amp.........anybody have any suggestions. The head unit I'm going to purchase is one of the new 2006 models from bestbuy.

I was looking at some Alpine type R's........I went to an install shop and he recommended either the JL 10 w3's or Kicker CRV's with 8 guage wiring. Would it be more cost effective to just go with the e1400d?

How many subs are you going to run? The great thing about the 500/1 is that you dont have to worry about matching impedence...just plug and play.... and you will always get 500 watts out of it...at least.

I wanna run two subs...........I got a price for $690 for two 10w3's and $460 for two Kicker Comp CVRs. I want something that going to hit nice, clean, and crisp. Not necessarily too loud.

Wow

Two 10w3v2 from my local shop with a box built wouldnt cost me but around 500-550, you oughta talk to them more about that.

As for the Kicker Comp CVR's, you can get them BRAND NEW online forl ike 70 dollars per sub. IF you want warranty, I think they're around 150/sub from an authorized dealer who will provide warranties with it.

Consider going somewhere other than a highly overpriced shop or best buy.

Personally I'd say go with two 12w3's in a nice box or two 12" Kicker CVR's

Either setup will get loud, CVR's will probably get louder but wont have as much quality(in general) as the JL will.

A single 12w6v2 would also sound great.

Yea, the JL's are out of the question and the CRV's well maybe.........and I'm only getting my head unit from best buy because they are the only place I can find the new 2006 Alpine Units......I wouldn't dare by a sub from best buy, their prices are inflated.........about $75-125 dollars.....any other suggestions about the setup?

Amp I'm getting it for $300-400

Head Unit for $189

Subs ????????

Amp Kit 99.99

Box 99.99

How does that sound?

i have two ARC audio KAR 12d4's i need to get rid of so i can go back to tens. My truck just isnt big enough for the 12's really. There barely used since i dont have the room for them to fit the way i want in my truck
