I have a 03 gmc envoy with 2 12 subwoofers and a 2500 watt amp I am having a problem with my subs briefly cutting in and out it doesn’t seem to be a loose connection and the amp is not going into protect mode I had someone sit in the back and watch the amp and when it cuts off they said that the amp makes a clank/drop sound like something’s loose whenever it cuts out anyone know of or ever had this issue?

Could you please provide more details about the issue?

I'd guess the power or speaker wire is lose somewhere. I've never heard an amp make a clank though and I'd replace it if I ever did 😂

Maybe a loose connection somewhere. What equipment? When was it installed? Does it have a proper ground?
It’s a first setup so just cheap gothic acoustic subwoofers with a mern machine 2500 watt amp maybe it’s the cheap amp but I do have a older car with factory head unit bc aftermarket won’t work with that car it was a whole process but anyways it is not getting the voltage it needs from them head unit even with the loc converter

Yes it has proper ground and probably installed about a week ago

I'd focus on the grounds that affect the factory harness, those factory pigtails are famous for being suspect. Things like engine to body or chassis grounds. Factory HU screams attention itself. I actually like the Gothic subs and would like to see good signal to any amp powering them. What gives me pause is the fact a factory HU /w/ possible ground issues is even a discussion. Audio 101 is signal, power and install.
Even an ol' jalopy can have surprising sound if done right.

Start by checking the battery voltage at the amplifier while it is cutting out. Most amplifiers go Into low voltage protection at 10.5v or 11v.
Also disconnect the subs from the amp and measure the ohm load of the subs.
Do you know the exact model numbers of the amplifier and the subs?
