Subs cut out today..... PLZ HELP!!! :(

So i was showin my manager my subs at work and it was like 3 am and very cold!!! so i show him and my friend turns is up a bit and i notice them bottoming out a little, but not bad, they were clipped a little ( not as much as they have been b4) for like 5-10 sec maybe, but i notice them kinda stop hitting and so im like shit im tired to deal with it, +

so i go to bed, next morning they do the same thing, work for like a min and then cut off... i get to wal-mart, open my trunk, check all the wires and this is whats happening: whenever theres a bass hit (right b4) the amp shuts off... its a profile ap1000m and the red light on top goes off and the green light on side does as well, then it powers back up until right b4 the next bass hit, i know it will work for a little while and then shut off, they will hit very faintly sometimes and then just go back to not hitting at all, but anyways i pulled the remote turn-on untill i figure out the problem.... plzzzzz help.

Both subs move and hit and the amp works sometimes but i cant figure out the problem, i think its the amp, but wouldnt a red light come on if it was going into protection, the green light stays on the whole time!!!

I would get a DMM and measure the imp. (ohms) of the coils to see if one or more is burned up or not. If they are both wired together and the final imp (ohms) should be lets say 1 ohm or 2 ohms and it measure nothing or a different imp then you know that a coil is fried.

Is the red light a protect light? If you've been clipping your amp for so long, maybe it's finally called it quits.

What ohm load do you have the subs wired up too???

i have them wired at 2 ohms and the amp didnt quit it just isnt working all the time, and my subs both move and arnt locked up, but i could see one being partially fried but not completely because i know they hit harder than if just one was working. is that clear? thanks for the help guys

Check the coils with the DMM and then let us know what you found out

well my subs hit just like normal 2day, but im sure they will start acting up again if there hitting like normal should i still check them with DMM???
