No, you just had all sorts of things wrong, such as using bass boost, a subpar sub with a powerful amp, and not setting other things correctly.I wired my sub like this http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg which is a 2 ohm load.
Should i have wired in series like this? 8 ohm load. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurationsm.asp~Q~1~I~42

If anyone knows this and could help me that'd be great. Tryin to look for an amp to hold me over till i get new subs. Like i said, the sub was just temporary until i got the new subs, and the old sub was going to my friend... So im not real concerned on quality for now. Im just looking for some bass on a budget lolI wired my sub like this http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg which is a 2 ohm load.

You can use your current amp, you just gotta turn off bass boost and turn down your gain. Do you have another sub? You can't use the sub you blew.If anyone knows this and could help me that'd be great. Tryin to look for an amp to hold me over till i get new subs.
