would be ok in a hatch or suv etc but not in trunk but this idea is not ideal lol. rear deck sounds like a better idea. just lose the coax's in the back and put a midbass in and call it d.u.n. dun. oh and make sure you can cut off the upper and lower frequencies going to the midbass so you dont pull from your front stage.

I just dont see the point of putting mids in the trunk.... I prefer them closer to me...

yes mids you wold but a midbass is nondirectional if used correctly. keep the upper cut off at 500hz or less.

I understand saving space but at the cost of having a terrible soundstage with no depth of field plus no separation. Sounds to me like you have never heard what a system is supposed to sound like.

More than likely this will sound terrible. Sure midbass can be done in the rear, but you have to pay super close attention to the xover points and most use some form of processing or T/A. This is basically like one of the full range kicker boxes from the 80's were everything was playing from the truck or the hatch. Unless you have no way of placing your midbass upfront somewhere, dont put them in your box. The closest I have ever seen to this was a guy that had 8's on his rear deck and a banpass sub through his ski hole. His system pounded but the xover points were right. The 8's played 80 to 50 and the bandpass played 50 down. He was also time aligned to his front stage that played 80 up.
