Will be working with around 2cu ft. I have someone picking up my sub en box for 200 tomorrow at 6. So thats my budget shipped, you can maybe squeez 220 outa me IF its a good deal. Looking to run ported at 40-42Hz, what cha got

Power will be memphis 1000, 1000x1@1ohm/600x1@2ohms

Not a matter of opinion at all... Half the threads on this forum about AQ are about them failing in some way shape or form... And to say the have good SQ is laughable...

How is it laughable to say they have good SQ? AQ has almost always had decent SQ i've always enjoyed listening to them. and failing is because of inadequate installs, I've run a SDC2.5 15" off 1200RMS daily with not even a hint of heat and the suspension is STILL stiff. I've ran an AQHDC3 copper off an AP1500.1D @ .5 ohms daily with voltage drop tuned to 27hz @ 7ft^3 and it sounded great and hit lows never got warm and sounded better than my PSI Platform 1 that cost about $100 more IN THE SAME BOX off THE SAME amplifier.

I have no idea if the problems have been corrected but AQ had issue's with their spiders for a good while. I mean this could have been fixed but IDK. But AQ being geared towards SQ gonna have to go with a no on that one. But then again one mans sq is anothers spl so to each his own.

ANy who, whats the smallest box i could squeez 2 dcons into? isnt 2cu before dispacement a bit small for them? Or would it be fine since im tuning a bit higher then normal

So because you won't buy a product because of what you have heard means he shouldn't? I've NEVER heard of them failing out of the box and I'm sure there are few incidents where it happen but I'm sure that has happened with EVERY company listed here. Maybe they aren't SQ oriented I really never said they were I said they have great SQ and imo they do and a bunch of others around here that use them and listen to them.

Personally not the greatest company out but for a $300 18" that can hit lows like that off that much power daily and sound good doing it imo it's a solid company that more people should concider. /2cents

Once again never said they were "gear'ed for SQ I just said the copper versions have great SQ, they sound better then a lot of the brands that were listed here right now from my own experience. Then again my ears must not be "geared" towards SQ listening

If you can fit it I'd do 2.5ft^3 but 2ft^3 is minimum I'd recommend, you could also make use of external Aero Flares to give you some extra space hell if you have to invert the ******* haha.

^^ Just another way for DD to scrape in more money from the lower range folks out here. I have nothing against them I loved my 2200d it was a great amp back when it was priced at 379 now its not priced so well

I actually think DD stuff is reasonably priced... You can get DD95's for practically free now heh. I honestly prefer the AQ amplifiers over their subwoofers too but now that prices have gone up there are more appealing brands to choose from I personally wouldn't run anything less than DC, SA, DD, RD etc amplifiers at this point. Crescendo's are starting to looks nice though for the price.

Once again that's your opinion and it's my opinion that AQ's sound better almost all of them do lol even though the 2.5's lack a bit in SQ sometimes on the lows. and I've seen cheaper AQ's take about the same power as an SA. Like I said I have had a SDC2.5 15" on 1200rms and it could have taken more and the 2.5 costs less than the SA's. Personally I would probably run SA over the AQ's anyways because I dont like the excursion of the AQ's too stiff imo.

Well uve given me some stuff to go over. When i go by my builders place tomorrow well take some measurements and see how big a box i can fit if i cut my tray out. maybe can work with 2.5 but it would be before displacement
