Sub woofer lag

Hey, I've been having a problem ever since I have gotten my new subs. I used to have 2 Pioneer IMPP 400 watts (4ohm) they sounded great and responsive. Unfortanantly, I blew them. I am with a warranty with best buy, and the subs they'd give me without forking out extra cash were the Rockford Fosgate 10" at 4ohms (RFZ3410). sound quality wise to my ears at least, they sound about as good as my old Pioneers. The problem is they seem laggy, unlike my old ones, especially when listening to techno/trance and other various forms of electronica. my subs are bridged in mono, and running in parallel. my amp is a rockford 401s, ive tried messing around with the crossover and that did nothing significant... someone tells me that the subs they gave me more than likely wont work with the box.. even though on the sub specs it says it will work on a sealed box...

hope i supplied enough info.. basically.. will new subs (possibly find same model as my old pioneers from another shop) fix the lag problem.. or is it more likely somethinng else

hey i think what they meant with about ur box is that the chambers are not the right size. each sub has its own size of box recommended which should be in the manual or check rockfordfosgate.com. im not sure of how much of a difference this will make, unless the box is way off the size recomendation. good luck
