sub wiring

I just bought 2 JL 12w6v2's DVC 4ohm, and a 851s Rockford Fosgate amp.

Here's the specks from the amp 425 x 2@2 ohm per channel or 850 x1 @ 4 ohm.

Here is my question. Which of these two wiring configurations would be better.

Option 1. Wiring the DVC's in parallel, creating a 2ohm load, and hooking them each up to a seperate channel

Or wiring the drivers in parallel and the DVC's in series creating a 4 ohm load and bridging the amp into 1 channel. The former is easier, but i don't know which will sound better. thanks for your help.

I would bridge the amp into a 4 ohm load.Which is what u described in that last statement.

i would wire the 4 ohm load. with the 2 ohm, you will get alot of the low sounds and not enough of the high end. it would sound much better in 4.

You cannot wire two 4 ohm dvc's into a 2 ohm load. Not possible. Two choices: 1 ohm or 4 ohms. Should help narrow the decision.

thanks for the reply, but i think you may have misunderstood me. my question was should i wire the subs together in parallel with each of the dvc wired in series creating a 4 ohm load over all, and bridge the amp to get the 850 watts rms bridged at 4 ohm, or should i hook each sub up to a seperate channel, wiring each sub independantly in parallel, creating a 2 ohm load for each driver, not combined, to get the 425 watts rms at 2 ohm for 2 channel. sorry for the misunderstanding.

i would wire them in parralel, unless you wanted the stereo sound, which really doesn't matter when you have subs, i would run them in parallel you'll have more power and it should sound better.

it don't matter which way you wire them because you will get the same amount of power to each sub. go bridged and switch the amp from stereo to mono and that should work all right.

I would personally run it 2ohm stereo, alot of amp lose damping factor when you bridge them. You'll get the same power and possibly a touch better sound.

Compared to 4 ohm stereo they will lose damping, but when compared to 2 ohm stereo there will be no loss of damping factor.

If you run a mono signal to the amp, it will not matter how you wire them. If you cannot be sure of getting a mono signal, you should have the subs on the same channel which would necessitate bridging the amp.
