Sub Wiring Question

I checked on that rockford site that shows you how to wire the subs. But just to make sure I can wire this sub:

with this amp:

at 1 ohm and only give it 400 watts instead of the whole 600 right?

no..you'll be giving it the whole 600.

set the gains correctly with a dmm and you can effectively give the sub the 400 watts it states for its rms

it'll work yes, but set your gains right, make sure you set it for 400wrms..

i mean even though it says 600, hifonics are overrated. and im sure that sub can handle a little over 400W. so you should be fine.
