sub volume wont work

Well, its pretty self explanatory. I just bought a Alpine (CDA-9855) CD player, a Alpine (MRD-M605) amp and some diamond audio subs (12''). Here is the deal, when I try to adjust the sub volume it has no affect and also when I try to turn the subs off it has no affect. Seems to me that the CD player is not talking to the AMP but I don't think that can be true because its getting all the sound....

The only thing I could think of is if you are using RCAs to connect your amp to your deck, you probably don't have those RCAs in the subwoofer outputs on your deck you either have them in the front or the rears so your subs still work but the sub controls don't.

I know that those amps have a way to control it from the amp itself or from the HU or one of those seperate display gadgets.....that can control up to 12 amps etc.

I would double check like the one person said that you have the right jacks hooked up then I would take the subwoofer jack and put it into another amp to see if it raises or lowers that amps output and then take the front jack and put it into the sub amp and play with the fader to see if that works. Just plug and play to make sure you have located the issue and then go from there. Also check on that amp because it has many many features that could easily cause a problem like this.

You should ck your amp, make sure that if there is a crossover on the amp itself, that it is switched to the lp/bp position.(make sure the amp is not powered on when you do this)

The problem is what FIX-8X said, if not, there is a problem with the HU
