sub validity

right now, i have this subwoofer powered by a 350 watt plate amp from RA. its a whole better than my little jensen i have. the sub is 8 inches and i don't know what the box is tuned to but it's made of plywood.

how much better, on a scale from 1-10 1= same 10=*******, what a diffrent 8" sub, say for instance an RE 8" for $50, be than this, especially in a box made of 3/4 mdf and tuned to like 25Hz?

wanted to know cause i would like my tempest to be at least 6dbs louder than this sony i have.

It probably wouldnt be that much better but im shure it would be an improvement.

Go to Apexjr.com and check out the 8's he sells. Those things would be an improvement. MCM has a helluva a little 8 too, it's got an XMAX of 16.6mm! I considered getting one but I modeled it a little and it seemed like a one note wonder. Probably could've made it better but I didn't feel like spending anymore time on it. Check it out and model it up and see what you think. Both of those subs are like $35.

yeah, i was thinkin of an RE 8. wow, 2 inches would knock it up that much? my tempest would probably kill it then
