sub thumping

i have a pionner P80MP HU with 1 sub connected. when i turn the volume all the way down the sub is still thumping sometimes flipping out. it will get loud then quiet. idk what what it can be? mayb my rockford interconnect cables or the HU?

maybe the fuse slowly melting? that happened to me, and when i'd turn it up sometimes it wouldnt be as loud, or i wouldnt get anything at all. i've popped 2 or 3 fuses before i got this big one which allows me to listen to my subs all the way up. the last fuse i popped was weird, cuz it didnt just pop.
