Sub spider+tinsel question?

So I'm getting my recone in tomorrow and I've learned 04/05 XXXs are notorious for tinsel slap. I want to sew or attach them to the spider partially to prevent this. I don't want to totally draw them down, but I figured if I did it pretty close to the soder point of the terminal, I'd be o.k.

Any suggestions?

my friend got a 12" 04/05 xxx and the tinsel is torn. whats the cause of this? over excursion? just wanted to know if yours was like this .

Attach them like this if you have enough tinsel lead length. The tinsels are sewn down in two places with many passes back and forth.

It's strong thread. The thread is also glued with a glue that stays flexible when dry for extra assurance of longevity.

No you don't really go gluing the thread to the spider.You glue the bundle of thread together and if a little of the glue gets on the spider by the thread it is ok because it stays flexible but no you don't want a bunch of glue on the spider. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This keeps the thread from unraveling under heavy use.

Gotcha. I was just considering maybe a fine plastic, type of string to sew it down just about like you did. Maybe even fishing line. Any objections to that?
