Sub Size Differences HELP PLEASE

What would be the difference between running 2 18" subs or running 2 12" subs. The subs are identical (power handeling, VC config. etc) the only difference is 2 18 vs 2 12 I listen to pretty much any type of music I like, Rap, Rock, Trance, the radio what ever. I guess I am just asking what the difference would be. Need some help TY.

The subs and amp are all JL audio if that helps any ( 12W6v2 vs 18w3)

That isnt true. It's hard to tell what the differences will be because you are talking about two different subs as well. if they were the same subwoofers just different sizes the advantage is cone area. you usually have potential to be louder with more cone area but there are too many factors.

The 18s will want a much bigger box. In the case of those subs you listed, the 12s will sound much better. There is no comparison between the W6v2 and the W3 in SQ.

The side of the driver (in theory) should only increase displacement.

If suspnesion adjustements are not made to compensate for the extra moving mass the larger driver can become a whole new beast.

As far as w3 18 vs a w6 anything. Not even a compariston in SQ as said before. W3 is dookey shit IMO.

Not only are you trying to compare 2 completely different drivers. But also driver size. Not just 12's to 15's, 12's to 18's.
