Sub selection help

Hello all.

I'm in the process of giving my car (96 Saturn SL2) a makeover including the sound system. I listen to all kinds of music but mainly rap and up tempo stuff.

I just purchased a PG Xenon 600.1 and am now going through the weeds to find a sub for it to feed.

I'm all about sound quality before loudness but will bump up the volume on occasion. I also am known to go heavy on the treble //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif. Again, I like my music to sound good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

Price range = 350-400 (enclosure/box included)

Any and all suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Kicker 12" L5 in a 2.5 cu ported box tuned to 35 hz. and it has outstanding Sq no matter how many ppl on this site tell you they just can't have great Sq. I don't know how much room you can give up for a box but the L5 fits the power really well. The alpine type r will also do well. It just won't have the loudness that the kicker is capable of.

IIRC - it is 600 watts and well within your price range

Can anyone chime in on the Infinity Kappa Perfects? Can they handle the amp I have?

I would choose the RL-p over the Perfects anyday...having heard both, would prefer Soundsplinter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The RL-p is good between 500 and 1kW, or slightly more.

I going to reccomend somthing a bit different I've heard extremely good things about these woofers and I'm going to a local shop and demo one soon for a possible install . Boston Acoutics G5 12 dvc 4 ohm http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3489.html I'll be going out there more then likely today and I'll report back later on with what I've heard.
