so i just got a glue kit from fixmyspeaker.com and the rubber adhesive that they suggest to use for the surround smells like weatherstrip adhesive... anyone else agree or ever tried using it?

I haven't used it but I've used a ton of weatherstrip adhesive.

Makes sense though, it's a metal to plastic gluing application. That said, there are different chemical properties for glues that are made for polypropylene or PVC, for instance. They'll smell the same but that doesn't mean their chemical properties are the same.

thats kind of the theory im going off of. metal to plastic... although this is a foam surround im dealing with currently. any opinion on that?
