Sub Question

I have a chance to purchace this sub amp combo, Just wondering if it will work or not, Someone i talked to said it may not because of the OHM's but he isn't totally sure.

mtx 275x amp

and a Jl 12W6 sub, The sub is a version 1, 12"

Per JL's site your 12W6 V1 is from the ealry 90's i believe. Are you confident the sub is in good condition? How much are they asking for the combo and does it include an enclosure? If so, what type? These would determine (to Me) wether its a good deal.

That sub is a DVC 6ohm sub. You can parrelel it to 3ohms nominal with 300watts rms.

MTXAudio.com is not letting me pull up specs on your amp. The amp should be able to do at least 300wrms x 1 @ 2ohms ideally. If the amps not stable down to 2 ohms or better, you should look for another amp IMO.

But as you look around, you'll see that just about any amp works with just about any speaker so long as the impedance (ohm's) match up and you're responsible with the controls.

Thanks for the reply, Quoted by the guy the sub's are only used for about 2 weeks in non competition use. He wants $150 for the full setup (about) shipped. This has really been the only combo deal i have come across but if its not that great, i'll keep looking.

well, honestly i dont know what a 12dubyah6 V1 will fetch right now so dont take my word for it. But for $150, i'd prolly buy it so long as the equipment worked.
