what does "HP" mean in a sub? like ive seen 3hp and 4hp, but i have no clue what it means

It short for "high power" as in high performance or high BL for TC Sounds motors. The unique feature of the HP motors is the tall 1.4" gap plate and generally they come with flatwound coils, although the original 3HP's for the Eclipse Titanium's were not flat wound. The Ti Pro's were. The current 3HP's are found on the TC Axis and feature quad flat vc's.
