sub question, please help soon

I need to make this decision today, I am about to get some subs in my car ,which already has very good speakers in it Harmon Kardon, which is an option from BMW. But my question is can i get subs and stay with the speakers that I have now? because if i can't i am just giong to get new speakers first, please let me know guys, I already have a new Head unit so the speakers are more powerful than stock, Car is a 02 BMW m3 if that makes any diff, and im looking at about 1200-1600 wts RMS for the whole sub setup. thanks!

yah u should be able to. just use one of the outputs on the aftermarket headunit to get the signal to the sub amp.

Id suggest trying ether a Magnum D2 or RE XXX 12 in a ported box at about 32hz and 3cubes either ona Pg Tantrum 1200.1 ...

In the past what ive done is hook up my frnt stage amp with the front on the Rca out puts on the head unit and my subs on the rear stage to where i can fade it for really loud bass or good SQ . Im guessing u dotn have a amp for the highs so that might be a suggestion to get .
