Sub Project Guidence

For a while now I have been thinking about finishing up my sub set up. What I have decided to do is take my two JLw3s and put one on each side of the trunk slightly angled toward the front of the car. Today I pulled off the passengers side panel to see if there would be enough room and was surprised to see what was back there. I was expecting a smooth panel that I could just fiberglass over. Well turns out there's a lot of shi*t back there.

So my plan then became to use the exisiting panel and do something like this except I want it to be part of the panel and not a separate piece. I'm concentrating on the passenger side for now since I have my OEM XM Tuner on the other side and need to relocate it when I have time. If you notice in my first picture there is a net in the little cubby. It was damaged so I pulled it out and determined there should be enough room for the sub (and it's air requirements). The only issue is that there is now a gap at the bottom of the cubby-it's not connected. So when I make my fiberglass mold I want it to extend onto the existing panel. How would I bond the two-with glue? Lastly I plan to put a piece of MDF behind the flat part of the panel so I can later mount an amp there. That leaves how to recover the panel. I want to recover the panel in a suede material. I'm just concerned that with the sub angled out the material won't apply smoothly. Any help guys? Oh yah and I have NO fiberglass experience :-D.

Any one? I might need to make that hole bigger. Should I just put cardboard behind it to use as a "mold" for the fiberglass to stick to?

Well since it is your first time with fiberglass, expect to waste a few $$$ on oopsies and redos. Also, I'm not understanding what you mean by "theres a gap in the cubbie, it's not connected." Hey thanks. Like look in the last two pics above ... there is like a slit in the bottom of the cubby. There was a net coming up through there (look at the first picture) but I took it out so now there is a little gap. I'm just concerned that will cause a stability issue. I've been thinking alot and what I think i'm going to do is fiberglass a separate pice and then glue it in to that cubby. Then when I cover it with fabric it will look like once pierce. But if I need to make the cubby bigger should I just use cardboard and lay fiberglass over that?
