Sub problem

Okay, well one of my PG RSD's 12's just started making a slapping sound recently.

I took the sub out of the enclosure and check the tinsel leads - all 4 of them were still perfectly woven.

I just can't find where the hell that sound is coming from.

The other sub has a crack in the cone, but not sure if that has anything to do with it or not because I know it's the other sub where the sound is coming from.

And when I push down on the cone it makes a clicking sound. Not a scrape, a tap - or "click" is as best as I can describe it.

What is wrong with my sub? Can I fix that slapping sound or what? It wasn't visible so I dont know what is. Help?

either you are bottoming it out or see if the spider is ripped where its glued to the cone. sometimes its hard to tell. free-air it and see...

I have my gains down all the way and the volume down rather low - no way I'm bottoming it out.

I took it out of the box and played it, but didn't see a spider rip.. but still a cone slapping sound, I'll check it out again but I'm just not sure.

Thanks for the suggestion though man - I'll look at it again.

Anything else it could be?

could be the leads slapping against the cone unless they are woven into the spider.

It's a really loud and annoying slap, and it just started.

Maybe it is the leads - idk, what could I do if it is that? I dont think it's that though.
