Sub not recognized on stereo

I have a kenwood KVT-512 with an alpine mrp500 mono power amplifier with a alpine type E 12inch sub. The sub is connected to the amp and the amp is connected to the deck. The deck doesnt recognize the sub, any suggestions?

look to see if your sub setting on your deck is right. make sure your sub out put control is set to on or whatever option it is on that deck

See but thats the thing. I try to press the "on" button on the screen(its a touch screen) but it wont let me, its unchangeable from off.

you may have plugged into the wrong RCA output, if there is more than one.
