sub noise

when i turn on my stereo the subs make this kind of quiet rumbling sound. like kind of a lil pop. anyone help me?

rumbling noise = usually ground problem / bad RCA cables, or head unit with internal grounding problems.

I think Dan covered it well. The only other possibility is you are describing the normal turn-on thump some amplifiers display. That's more so for older amplifiers. But Dan's suggestions are probably the real problem.
