sub making loud noise when starting

hey i had to take out my box today which meant disconnecting some wires and when i put it back i made sure i put everything exactly the way it was. however when i turn on my car, turn the volume to 0, or mute it the sub makes a loud thumping sound. i don't know what this is. i've tried rewiring and everything. please help.

It is 'turn on thump'... It is normally related to a ground problem, check that first.

I get a smilar thump when I start my car also. doesn't bother me much.

But what does bother me is that I hear a constant rumbling sound from the subs. When I turn up the volume you hear it more. If I hit mute you can definetly heard the rumbling. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

was your amp attached to your box?

RE-check ALL the wires, looking even for 1 strand straying off somewhere and touching something it shouldn't.

sure SOUNDS like a wiring issue. check again, re-do it. If it was EXACTLY like it was, you wouldn't have the thumpy, thump. Something's getting the subs moving.
