Sub makin a little noise

I just got a zx1500.1 for my D1 BL and set the gain at 1700 watts at 45/62 volume (birthsheet says 1755). Anyways on some songs the sub makes a very light slapping sound... anyone know what this is? I thought it was bottoming but im not so sure now because it doesnt do it on low notes... most of the time it is around 40hz (tuned to 32.5)... any idea what this is?

Oh also ive noticed it does this only when the windows are down (truck also gets a lot louder with windows down)... it goes away when they are closed. It is not very loud at all and the sub is directly behind me so thats probably why i notice it (extended cab truck).

not quite sure. the amp may be cramping up. if its a 1500.1 and your at a 1700 gain it may be clipping a bit. i could be wrong
