Sub Makes Clunking Sound

I grabbed a couple of those $13 subs from ED during their sale and dropped them into the box I built with a 500watt bash plate amp. When the volume reaches half way one of the subs makes a pretty terrible noise. The other one doesn't make any bad noises no matter what the volume is. I took the bad sub out and re-glued the spider which caused the buzzing to go away but did nothing for the clunking sound.

I tried contacting ED but wasn't expecting much from them (glad I didn't) and got no reply at any of the addresses I tried. I realize if worst comes to worst I'm out ~20 bucks, but I was hoping to fix it if possible and make a HT sub out of it as a gift for someone. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
