sub keeps cutting off

my sub cuts off if i turn the HU past 22/44, the protect and power lights are both lit, but when i turn my truck back it works, until i go past 22, im pretty sure its loose sub wiring cuz i went over some bumps in the rose yesterday and it stopped playing, but i thought if i disconnected the speaker that light goes back off if its the sub? amp = re 35.1, sub = aq hd 12

I had the same problem...

There is a short in the wires of your speakers. Your HU wont play because it's saving itself.

how would the HU or amp being clipping if the HU is only AT like 50% volume same with the amp

How did you set your gains? Did you use the gain setting tutorial in the amp forum?

Go back and check your wires, you also may have your sub wired at too low of an impedence.

actually im pretty sure its just loose sub wiring, but its not too low of imp its 1.2ohms and ive ran it at 1ohm on my xxx. and gain was set in the same as my xxx and it doesnt have bass boost.

You prolly either have your amp wired at too low of an impedance, so it shuts off or you have your gain and bass boost cranked, so it shuts off.

i agree...if it isnt one of the two, maybe check your ground?
