sub is clipping please help!?!?

if it's not clipping that what else could it be? cause it's never done this before...could there be something wrong with the sub?
Speakers do not clip, amplifiers do. The speaker can play a clipped signal sent to it by the amplifier, which will causes distortion in the music, which could be what you are talking. I would set your gain correctly with a DMM and see what happens.

have you changed anything in the setup? try listening at lower volume levels.

perception of beats is determined both on time (attack and fall times) and freqeuncy (tonal pitch). severe clipping has compressive effects that distort both frequency and timing information, especially with closely spaced beats -- basically the next note starts before the current one has decayed enough, blending the two notes together. further, the attack of the next note is distorted, making it hard to determine as a distinct note.

sometimes a hole in the frequency response of a system will lead to some notes being heavily attenuated. in some cases a beat might seem to be missing -- especailly if a more favored note is being played at the same time.

well i adjusted the gains and it seems to have fixed the problem as of now. i have no idea how it happened but my gains were turned all the way up. so i correctly adjusted them and the beats are all back without any skips.

and to raisedin it's in a sealed box.

Who set your gains before?

the thing is i did. i set my gains and i set it right..but when i went back to check both of my amps were set to full gain. so i think someone was mad at me or something haha. oh well.

lately ive been getting clipping when i hit bumps. is this normal?
