Sub in my boot?

I am totally new to the car audio scene and have my hopes of getting a sub in my car. I know the usual place(correct me if im wrong) is the boot. I have a gas tank in my boot, will putting a sub in it make it harder to install or worse/poor quality sound due to the tank.

Due to the rear body shape of my car would it be more reasonable to put the the sub in the trunk or not to bother at all.

BTW. Great site guys, I have learnt SO much over my few weeks lurking, keep it up.

You know, if you were Canadian and I heard you read a few of these sentences out loud, I would LMAO......

I am not sure I would put an amplifier back there, just because of the fire hazard, also if you install a sub back there, it could temporarily catch fire (voice coil) and spark a blaze......just food for thought
