Hi - sorry, this is probably a basic question but I haven't been able to find an answer after an hour of searching around the net. I'm hooking a Fusion CP-AS1080 active sub up to a Clarion headunit (CX501a), but cant seem to get sound through it. Power coming through the main line and remote, fuses are good, ground is directly into the chassis. When I unplug and replug the RCAs I get a burst of vibration through the sub, but nothing else comes through.

Any ideas?

If it made noise then amp and sub are working. After the noise was there a red indicator light labeled protect? If no, check the settings in your radio. Make sure S-W is activated and volume up (also that you plugged into s-w output). If all is well, connect another source into those rcas. Can you connect cellphone or Ipod into amp to test? You can use a 3.5mm to rca adapter. Your local autoparts or electronics store should stock them. If it works, then something is bad in your rca run. Make sure rcas are fully inserted in both units.

Thanks for that, that makes sense. S-W is selected in the headunit, but I'll try to locate an rca converter and try the leads through other speakers.

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage
