sub firing foward and port up?

I am trying to do a setup where the box ports through the rear deck. I have an 8" hole from where my stock sub used to be. I was thinking of doing a box with the sub facing foward and the port facing up. Its for a 12W7 on a 1000/1. Any ideas?

I can't build the box deep enough to do that
