Edit, sry title is suppose to say AMP filters, not sub

Well i am new and i did do some searching but i wanted more advise on my amp specifically.

I have a planet audio RXD-1900 http://www.planetaudiousa.com/main/488

Hooked these subs in correct custom sealed box.

here is the specs for the subs and the side shot of the amp controls

They rca signal is coming from my Avic-d3 radio.

What my main questions are is, what should my filter settings be for this system running 2ohms. The main controls that im unfamiliar with are, phase shift, input sensitivity, and the subsonic filter. It sounds decent right now but kinda muddy on rock. I listen to 50/50 rap/rock.

thanks, steve

Nope, this is the correct section. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Subsonic Filter : This is a filter used to cutoff the sub from playing below what it should be playing and ending with bad results. This is generally set 10hz or so below what your box is tuned. So if your box is tuned to 34hz, your SSF would be around 25.

Phase Shift : This will basically swap the positive and negative going to the sub, causing the sub to shift phase. This is used if being used with other subs / speakers to keep them all in phase. you don't need to mess with it unless your having a problem.

Input Sensitivity : This is dependent upon your headunit. If your headunit is only sending out

Thats about it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

these are the specs off my avic-d3, so off this what should the input be?

* Built-in Speaker Power: MOSFET 50W x 4

* Continuous Power Output: 22W x 4

* Equalizer: EEQ (3-Band Parametric)

* 3 Mode Loudness

* Source Level Adjuster (SLA)

* High-Pass Crossover (HPF): 50/80/125Hz, -12dB/Oct.

* Subwoofer Crossover (LPF): 50/80/125Hz, -18dB/Oct., +/-12dB

* RCA Preouts: 3 pair (Front, Rear, Sub/Non-Fading)

* Preout Voltage: 2.2V, 1k Ohm

Your HU stuff doesn't change anything there except the input sensitivity. Which I looked up beforehand and told you it was 2.2v so leave it to 2V-8V.

So here's what you do:

Don't touch anything.

hahaha. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

You can try switching the phase of it to see if it sounds better with your comps and whatnot (sometimes this helps), but it seems the muddy sound may just be that the sub can't keep up with the fast, short bass of most rock music //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yeah now that i have some good advice i will fiddle...just didnt want to be changing stuff and have it hurt something

cause the subsonic made a big difference in sound...but i wasnt sure if it was safe.. I like quicker hard hits of bass, not always boomy stuff.

thanks for the replys

Would you guys say thats a decent setup too?

Yeah it's a decent setup. I mean, there's better stuff out there but for someone who just likes listening to their music and doesn't care about numbers or competing that's a great little system. Your HU is fantastic, and your amp/subs are decent. Planet Audio makes some decent entry level gear.

Enjoy the tinkering //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
