while i've been planning out my system online, i came across two different types of boxes and i wanted someone elses opinionm who knows a little more about it than i do. one box is with the subs placed on the outside, a regular box like mtx t610x2a. or a bandpass box, with the subs on the inside like the audiobahn abp10t. (both are available at sounddomain.com) if someone could help me out with this and just let me know what the best choice is and what the benefits are..i'd appreciate it. thanks

well a sealed box with hard more accurate better sounding bass. A ported enclosure will sound pretty good but will also get louder. A bandpass box will normally sound like shit. Bandpass can get loud but they only let a small band of frequencies to pass. Me, and most ppl would agree that bandpass os horrible. Someone who knows more about this can explain better.

Well, it seem like deciding a sealed box versus the bandbass box. On this forum or anything other forum a bandpass box is looked down upon. The reason for this is that bandpass boxes have to be made just for the subs or it sound out of phase. The bandpass box is complicated and is not a one size fits all for any sub.

If I were you I would go with the sealed box. They are great for SQ system and for those who like punchiness in their bass. A lot of people will say build your own but I know that not everyone has the tools, space, or time to build a box. You should try ebay if you looking for a cheap box. BigDogCarAudio on ebay makes some really nice boxes out of 3/4" mdf unlike a lot of boxes on sounddomain. Or you ask LoneRanger on this forum, he makes boxes, they cost a little more then ebay but he makes them solid and customizable. With his boxes he can customize to whatever size the sub needs and what ever size you think looks good in trunk.

I wouldn't go bandpass though, unless you really know how to design one. A staight up ported box should do what your looking for in a bandpass box but without the trouble. Stick around more and you really get the hang of all this. It is real easy once you start learning.

if i was planning on buying an enclosed subwoofer..and was lookin for 2 10"s..which im powering with an xtant a6001t amp (600 watts) which subs do you think i should go with..

(all can be found at sounddomain.com)
