Sub box with magnet sticking out?

Would anyone see any issues with cutting round holes slightly larger than the sub magnet and then sealing it with caulking?
Ok after fully reading this, I think we can help you come up with a better idea.

1. what kind of truck are you installing this in? total area you have to work with?

2. what size and model of subwoofer are you using?

3. what will you be powering it with?

answer these questions and you will get some ideas.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The back of the box will be pushed up against the back of the seat in my regular cab pick up. Also people use silicone all the time on finishing their projects such as siding, bathroom fixtures and even windows. To say using silicone would be unsightly I think its a little off.
We'll have to agree to disagree how it would look. That's subjective anyway. If you would like the looks, more power to you.
But I realize now this is not being considered for looks, merely for space. As suggested above, Id look at a different speaker that does meet your depth requirements... or have you considered an inverted mounting setup between the seats? You prolly have a bench tho...

Yeah its a 83 silverado and im 6'3 so I was attempting to keep from moving the seat forward at all. It apears that I have about 6.5" to work with at the bottom and 3.5" at the top and a height of 15.5" and a width of about 57.5" It comes out to roughly 1.6ft^3 which is perfect for the ID's i have. They have a pole vent which pretty much shot this idea down pretty quick.....

Just being dumb i calculated what the pole vent would tune the box to. Assuming the vent is about 3-5 inches long it would tune it in the low 20's.

I remember back in the day when I was a n00b. Someone recommended that I get amp coolant to prevent my amp from overheating. I actually went as far as going to the stereo shop and asking for amp coolant.
