Sub box with magnet sticking out?

Would anyone see any issues with cutting round holes slightly larger than the sub magnet and then sealing it with caulking?

i think he means a shallow box with an extra hole cut in the back to have the driver of the sub sticking out of the back

The magnet sticking out the other side of the box, sealed off with silicone?? Why not just build another box, or find a shallow mount woofer, or put some spacer rings on the box.

you could make shallow box and put plexiglass over the back in like a cubic shape and have the driver of the sub sticking out

I would think if the sub had a pole vent it would = fail Just be a leaky sealed enclosure. I'd say if you wanna check out the back of your sub while its in the enclosure then do something with plexi, or mount them inverted. If your running into issues with mounting depth, then just bump the back of the box our around the sub (if you got room to cut a hole and in the back and still mount the sub then there can't be much of anything behind the box limiting your monting depth)

You guys are funny. I wanted to do a sealed box behind the seat of my truck. The subs are barely deeper than what I have room for. I figured a magnet that is round the seat would just form around and wouldn’t notice them other than if you sat right in front of it you might feel a lump in the back of the seat. After this "brilliant idea" I remembered that my subs have a pole vent so this idea was not a brilliant as I 1st thought. Thanks for all you internet kids and your quick, smart-alecky responses! A serious thanks to those who are mature enough to ask serious questions and post serious problems that they thought of. Guess I need a new plan!
