I have a single 15” dvc Sundown x-15 that I am planning to install in my 87 Regal. I have a question about the box— if the port is vented to the side as opposed to the rear how much will it affect the sound? The sub will be powered by a Skar rp2000.1 if that makes a difference

I'm not an audio expert but I had a pair of subs firing towards the front for a long time until one day I decided to point them towards the rear and saw an increase in spl/ overall loudness. I did however notice that it hindered overall sound quality. I love facing the port to the rear for spl reasons but it does spawn a need for deadending.
