sub box design

hey, how do you guys design boxes that are huge ported onces and figurs out if its gonna work? like you make 6 cu.ft boxes for like 1 10, any of you guys know of anywhere i can get info regarding this, cause i wanna build a mungoid box and make it sound good, how can i figure out how? and is there any way to see if a speaker will do well in a large ported box?

http://www.linearteam.org and down load WinISD Pro and/or WinISD Beta. the yare box building systems. they have gobs of woofers to choose from and you can add your own also.
