Sub & Amp Combo - Need opinions!

Hey,

I'm fairly new to the forums, have been using the search function extensively for the past week or so, but finally decided to make a more specific thread. I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, with kenwood excelon tweeters, 6x9's and door speakers powered by a fosgate prime and two 12" P3's in a slot ported box hooked up to a alpine mrp-1000. I got everything for very very very cheap brand new so decided to take the plunge....after 3 weeks I regret it. I'm planning on getting rid of the P3's and the alpine amp so I can get something that better fits my needs. I'm looking for the perfect combination of sql and spl. The whole car including the floor boards is dynamatted. I want it to be loud but I'm not going to be entering any competitions for the time being. More looking for super clean and tight low low bass.

I'm looking to spend $700 on a sub & amp combo. Looking for one 12", 13.5" or 15" in a slotted box at or around pushing around 1000wrms.

Subs I have narrowed down to a couple of brands but am still open to other options.

Looking at:

JL 13W7

Cerwin-Vega Stroker (Little much)

DC lvl 4

Earthquake DBxi

IDmax

Diamond D915G

Memphis Mojo

RE Audio MX/SX

Any thoughts or suggestions? Sub plus amp combos that might be what im looking for?

I highly reccomend looking into the FI Q. 1 15" in a nice ported box will sound amazing and plenty loud. I ran two Q 18"s and loved them, sold them for BTL's because i wanted louder and now im going right back to the Q's. 4 this time. It will leave you about $300-$250 for a nice amp.

You think that the Fi Q will have enough excursion and be loud enough since I will be having a one sub setup?

No, It wont. 2 DC lvl3 12's splitting the 1000 would be agood optopn tuned to 34ish

2 Aq sdc 2.5 12's would only be $300 and they bang ported, go with 2 15's if you can fit it.

you think an AQ HDC3 15 will sound better than a JL13W7? I found a really good deal on craigslist for a 13W7 and Jl 1000/1 for $500 used, but I don't want to settle this time I really wanna find exactly what will suit my needs best.

That deal seems to good to be true, as both are worth a fair bit more individually.

Screw the btl, get an hdc3, dc lvl 4 possibly (but I dont know the price on them)

the deal does seem to good to be true but im gonna hook em up in my vehicle and hear em before i would ever give him the money, and he is semi-local so...

what about a DD 9515? Those go for a little over 400 around here right?

So the best 15" sql sub with at least 1000wrms in my price range would be what? I'm sure there are a number of options I can go with that can push 1000wrms, but I'm looking not just for bang but for the lowest and cleanest bass I can get from one sub.
