I know exactly what you're saying 78nova. I get the same thing around here with JL Audio, Rockford. People ride around bumping their systems, bragging constantly that JL is the king of subs, showing off their installs (which is usually just a box and amp thrown in the trunk).

Car Audio is competitive just like anything else, and the bragging can get just down right annoying. Most of these people will never compete on a higher level to test their system, they'll just continue to run around and brag that whatever they have is the best.

Same with cars, computers, TV's, sports, etc...

The problem with these people is that they seem to convince others and drive them to buy this brand and they won't be convinced even if they hear something better. It's NEVER better. Then you'll hear, oh your system is good, but mine is better ... they'll crank it up, you'll raise an eyebrow and alot of times people around agree with them mainly because they hype their stuff up so much.

The same people from High School are still bumping JL's with the attitude they had back then; and it's been 8 years so not always do things change. This summer will end their brand loyalty. Time to open up eyes and minds :up2someth

were i live it's all rockford. people ask me what subs i have and i tell them idmax and they laugh at me thinking i have some cheap off the wall shit. people think rf and jl around here is everything. i told this one kid i had three idmax's because he had three hx2's and he took a listen and he said wow this is louder than my hx2's. then i told him to come around too the back and take a look at them i when i opened the trunk he almost shit himself when he say i only had one sub. what also sucks is the people don't know how to install shit. this guy with the hx2's has three sony xplod amps that are 760 watts peak and he is trying to convice me that each sub is getting 760 watts rms and all he has is 10 guage wire to his amps so it's kinda fun to impress people like that and now he wants to know where to buy an idmax but i won't tell him until he getts a better amp because it would be a shame to run an idmax and such an awful amp or amps. this was a bunch rambling but i felt it was a story that needed to be told maybe that there is hope for these jensen people.
