So I measured my ground's with a DMM today, one was a spot in the trunk sanded down and the other was a 14' KLM 1/0 cable, also in the trunk. Attached jumper cable to my negative battery post, attached a lead off the DMM to the other end of the corresponding jumper cable. For the spot in the trunk, it read 2.0 ohms, which is extremely bad, and for the cable, it read 0.0-0.1. So technically the voltage drop if grounded at the chassis should be greater than the one grounded to the 1/0. So I tried it out, played a 50hz tone, played it up my highest volume set (not clipping) and the results baffled me. Voltage up front went from 14.1-14.2 to about 13.0. Voltage in the trunk when the amplifier is grounded to the chassis dropped to 12.8, while the drops when the amplfiier is grounded to the 1/0 drops to 12.3. Seems like the results are opposite of what they should be.. anyone got a clue why?
