Kenwood Nav. Map DVDs?

So the roads where I live have changed quite a bit and the KNA-DV4100 maps are outdated. Kenwood has released updated DVDs but they want $450 for them. This is insane considering the current online price for the whole unit w/ dvds is $470! Does anyone know if these DVDs are copy protected? If i bought them, burned copies, then resold them for cheaper on ebay I could justify spending that kind of scratch.

Maybe someone in the west could go halfs with me?

so anyone have the updated map dvds on the west coast and wouldn't mind selling your east coast dvd?
