Stuffing ported box

Question:Can you add stuffing to a vented box to make the apparent volume larger ? Are there any considerations as far as where to put the stuffing (like how close to the vent) other than not to cover the vent?

Thanks.
you know there's people starving in other countries, right? and you're going to fill your enclosure with stuffing that could be filling the little tummies of third-world children... for shame.

That was dry. You know there's a water shortage right....

My friend had a ported box that was stuffed, i took it out to see how it sounds after and it was about 3 times louder? kinda wierd.
Yeh I think that would raise the tuning, and give you a more peaked response.

I was kinda wanting to stuff it to get better SQ without having to lose all my of tiny trunk.

It was a 40 watt, 8" subs or something... lol

it was hood status for sure. 12ga power wire..

Stuffing a ported box usually sounds pretty terrible and I don't think it's from the larger enclosure volume. Larger enclosures and different tunings do not have the same effect that stuffing a ported enclosure has.

Stuff and if you don't like it pull it out.

Is it really that hard for you to test it out for yourself? This is one question you could simply have tested yourself and you would have an actual informed opinion through experience.

Stuffing a sealed enclosure can be beneficial because it changes the interior condition from adiabatic to isothermal.

Stuffing a ported box will only help if you are having problems with standing waves or ringing.
