Rolled up socks/shirt, roll it tight so it barely fits in the port and it shouldn't move even if you crank it up.

Cut a matching sized mdf circle and seal it in place. Silicone, blah blah blah. Cheap and should serve the purpose. May want to bracket it to ensure stability.

go to a hardware store they make a plastic plug with a rubber gasket. you turn the wingnut in the center it expands and makes water tight...
