Stripped hex head bolt :-(

x2, a Tap and Die set correct? Or am I thinking of something else? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
no a tap and die set are used to either add threads to a hole or thread a bolt. Im talking about these

basically you use a drill to drill a hole in a screw or bolt they have recommended drill bit sizes depending on which extractor your going to use. The extractor is tapered you can put a socket on them and thread it into the striped bolt the extractor has reversed threads so when you back the extractor out it actually bits into the screw tighter and backs the screw out for you.

ok first of all who said any thing about ruining scosche wire. and if you have been working on stuff since you wer 9 and can tell the dif between hex head and torx the you got problems hell i can guess what size some thing is and what it is just by looking at it and i know aluminum aint as good as copper but the way i look at it wire is wire it moves power from one point to another and aluminum wont rust or crode like copper will. and for you info im running kun

I said it was corroded dumbass, and i couldnt tell it was a torx bolt. Take your stunna shades off and read better

wire may be wire but aluminum wire is a bit diff from copper.

Actually aluminum will corrode just like copper.
aluminum also shrinks with massive amount of heat ask any electrician.

FYI aluminum isnt as good for conducting as copper is #4 aluminum wont conduct as good as #4 copper.
if your gonna use aluminum you usally have to go the next size of the wire up for example if it's number 10 aluminum you have to go to number 8 and so on to get the same amount of amperage. as shown here

well i guess you learn some thing new every day . and hey drchronic if you cant realize this is a fourm and your going to dun in to a smart *** every once in a while you need to quit posting and go some whear elce . but in all seriousness if you have to cut the bracket can you remake another one cause ide imagine with a car 30 years old you would have to make one can you get another one if you can ide cut the bracket to give me more room in their to get at it . or you could put a piece of either medal over the seat and then cut it off or grind the head off then just try to get it out with some vice grips
