Stripped hex head bolt :-(

Does anyone know how i can remove a stripped hex head bolt? its an 8mm hex and i stripped it trying to use a 7mm hex bit with my dewalt impact driver. Its holding my backseat on so its sort of hard to get to also. I was thinking about just grinding the head off and getting another bolt to go there if nothing else. Any ideas? I need to remove my backseat so i can dynamat behind it/carpet the trunk and cut a vent in the middle of it too.

Is it hex or torx? You can try an easy out if you have room but I'm bettin its a tight *****. I was an idiot and did that taking out my back seat too, just cut the top of the bolt off and got a new one.

when i get some more time ill see if i can make the next size "fit" in, since i gotta dip to work in a few. i dont have any actual allen head bits, so i just grinded off the right angle bend of an allen wrench, and used that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif I dont have any batteries in my cam but ive tried to draw a pic of what ive got here. Imagine youre looking at the backseat from the right side of the car through the door. Im probably gonna have to resort to using my big *** grinder, and end up catching something on fire. The bolt is rounded out like a mofo. and its got a huge head on it too so it wont be easy. The diameter is about 1 inch

cut a slot, use flat head

sounds like a torx not a hex head. torx seat belt bolts are a *****. ive cut a few heads off its not too bad, just make sure sparks dont catch anything on fire

Yea it is actually a torx head but i usually never have problems using regular allen wrenches on them. This ***** is torqued down like a mofo though. I have no idea how im gonna get my grinder in there either. Ive got one of the big ones with the 6 inch disc
