Strapping Amps?

Ok, So I read the manual and figured out how to strap them...but still confused on a few things

I am strapping 2 Kicker KX1200s to 3 Rockford P3s that are at 2.67 ohms.

Here is the manual if you would like to see: http://www.kicker.com/sites/default/...Amplifiers.pdf (Page 6 for Amp Strapping)

But in that it shows only 1 set of RCA's going into first amp, but not into 2nd...So I only need 1 set ran?

And could someone explain what the "Strapping" input on the amps actully do? I talked to a Kicker dealer here in my hometown yesterday and he had never actully strapped amps, he told me just to run 1 coil off each sub to one amp and other coil to other amp, I know that would work....But doing it that way you have to have each amp EXACTLY matched or risk frying a coil....So I am wondering how setting these amps up works now with the strapping cables?

And when they are strapped, will each amp be at 1.33 ohms? meaning each amp should be doing 900-1000 RMS?

If someone could explain, I would be very appreciative.

Im not sure for the kickers but im thinking youll need a 3 ft set or so to go from the output on the master amp to the input on the slave amp.

Yes, when you strap amps you split the load, so if your load is 2.66 ohms, each amp(as you said) will see 1.33 ohms. Of coarse after rise you wont see 1000 from them each but you get the idea.

O and you dont need to worry about frying coils if you use a maxxlink.
What is a maxxlink? and Do i have to have gains and such set EXACT on each amp to risk not messing anything up? Or does the master amp control all that?...I am kinda lost cuz this is first time I have done this.

How about don't do it. It's not worth the hassle and your gains will be minimal if any. Plus if you ever have one amp fry it is very likely the other one will too - it's not always but its very possible.

How will be gains be minimal? I am at 2.33 Ohms on 1 amp right now, 2 ohm RMS on that amp is 600 watts...meaning I'm pushing like 550 RMS right now? If I strap them it will drop to 1.33 ohms on each amp? And RMS at 1 ohm is 1200 watts?...So I will go from about 550 RMS to nearly 2k RMS....how is that minimal? Or correct me if i'm making a mistake here

just follow the kicker diagram and run a splitter for the rcas so that each amp has a set going to it
Ok, But as far as the gains go...how does it work? Do I have to have each amp set EXACT same? Or if i just tune the dials to same as eachother without using DMM am i going to be ok? Or is it like, The gains on master amp control all? how does it work?
