My sony xplods sounded louder than my DC XL. NEED HELP!!!!!!

ok i connected everything today. kinetik1800, aq 2200, and the dc xl. i did everything as directed by some ppl on here. when i go and turn it on, its not loud AT ALL. i hear the bass but i have to turn it up to 50 something but then it shuts off, even then its not even as loud as my sonys when i was 15. does anyone know how to adjust an aq2200, or my radio, pls help. im going to light my car on fire:verymad:

make sure the settings are right first off, the high pass filter, subsonic filter.

how ar eyou gains set?

what headunit are you using?

what kind of box?

does the sub look like its reaching full potential or is it barely moving?

all new gear? sub blown? amp fried? what hu? are you sure the sub is turned on on the HU or up if it has that setting?

ok, the box is 4.4 cubes at 31hz. i made it btw. head unit is pioneer premier deh p400ub. how do i set the subsonic, hpf, and gain. the sub was not moving much. the sq was really good just didnt get loud at all. i literally had to turn it up the the 50s just to get some sound out.

sounds like it is probably as simple as doing some tuning on the amp and HU.

Some HUs (not sure about yours) have an option to have the subwoofer turned on or off or give it a volume control. search to see if yours has this.

thats what my friend and dad told me, but id like an idea of where to set everything, at least to start at. like number wise

it sounds like amp settings or reverse polarity on the subs means the subs are out of phase

turn it all the way down, then slowly turn it up. you can get hurt by doing that.
